About Us
The Revd. Amanda Evans is the Diocesan Coordinator for Healing and Wholeness and the Bishop’s Advisor. She is also Chaplain to The Living Well. Amanda left parish ministry at the end of 2006 in order to develop the work of The Living Well.
She had been a team vicar in the Whitstable Team Ministry since 2001 and prior to that served her title at St. Mary of Charity, Faversham.
Amanda took over the role of Bishop’s Advisor in December 2001 which she developed alongside her parish work. Increasingly she felt that she was being called to leave parish ministry and to focus full time on the healing ministry. At the same time the Executive of the Diocesan Fellowship of Healing and Wholeness were feeling increasingly that there was a need for a full time Advisor in the Diocese and they took their proposal to their Patron, Bishop Stephen Venner, in May 2006 who encouraged them to explore possibilities for the way forward.
It was decided to develop The Living Well as an Unincorporated Charity and for Amanda to become the chaplain as well as a trustee.
To this end, the Revd. Michael Morris, Chairman of the Prayer Support Group, Sir Don Martin and Mr. Julian Hills, the Diocesan Secretary are now the other Trustees of The Living Well.
Keith Cox became the Administrator in July 2009. A teacher since 1985, he took an opportunity to retire from his last post as Head of English at an Ashford secondary school 3 years ago to focus on writing and caring for his family. Keith now works at The Living Well on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The Rev'd Helen Connoll is Vice Chair of the Diocesan Fellowship of Healing and Wholeness. She became involved with the Fellowship when she was Chaplain at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. She is now also Administration Assistant at The Living Well and works on Friday.
The Living Well's work is supported through fees and donations and, as this project is mostly self-funding, we rely very much on the wonderful support and generosity of our members, friends and clients.
